Best Apples Ever, Ever, Ever

Apples are almost ready!

Apples are almost ready!

Dixon’s® Apples is home of the famous Champagne™ and Sparkling Burgundy™ apples. Located in the 6,200 foot-high, lava rich Rancho de Cañada in Peña Blanca New Mexico. Dixon’s® Apples has been growing apples for the past 60 years.

In our little hidden-away mountain valley called Cañada (kahn-yada) by the early Spanish settlers — meaning a place at the mouth of a canyon where it ceases to be as deep as a canyon, but is not as wide as a valley, we grow “Champagne®”” and “Sparkling Burgundy™” apples. This particular Cañada has proved to be one of the really rare apple growing spots in America. We have a sunny southeast exposure which ripens and colors apples with a beautiful sheen. Here we have a volcanic ash soil which gives the apples flavor which results in our delightful sparking cider. The cold mountain nights make them crisp and firm so every single bite crackles and the juice runs down your lips.

Our 50 acre orchard produces four varieties of apples: Red Delicious, Red Rome, Sparkling Burgundy™ and our famous Champagne™. The Champagne™ apple is considered by some to be the best apple in the world. Ideal for baking, cooking, and making apple sauce.

Dixon’s® Apples has implemented a new drip irrigation system to help reduce the amount of water needed for our crops. With the combination of the new system and good rains we look forward to a bountiful crop this season. We invite you to come to Dixon’s® Apples and taste the difference. Our harvest season runs from late September until the last bag of apples are sold. for more information.
